Description

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN for a 13-week travel assignment at a Magnet-recognized teaching hospital, requiring an active NY RN license and EPIC EMR experience.

Details

• General Emergency Department treating adult and geriatric patients across all emergency diagnoses
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• 3x12 hour Day (7a-7p) or Night (7p-7a) shifts available
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday coverage required if needed
• Floating required within skillset
• Uses Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment
• EPIC charting experience required
• Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy blue and white

Requirements

• Active New York Single State RN license required in hand (pending licenses not accepted)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; PALS and TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience required
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, and procedural sedation monitoring
• Experience with CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management
• Experience treating CVA, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI patients
• Experience with cardiac monitoring including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG
• Experience with emergency trauma care including gunshot wounds and ortho trauma
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and triage
• Arterial line management and hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun experience preferred

• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be considered for RN positions
