Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric ICU position requiring 18 months of PICU experience and BLS/PALS certification.

Details

• Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of a children's hospital
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours), 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Required to work holidays as part of the schedule
• Cerner charting system preferred
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license required in hand prior to start
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 18 months of PICU experience required
• Nursing degree from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, administration of blood and blood products, central line/implanted line care, and PICC line management
• Experience caring for ventilated pediatric patients and respiratory management
• Skilled in interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
• Knowledge of infection control, isolation precautions, and PPE protocols
• Proficient in pediatric dosage calculations and administration of medications including emergency medications
• 2 supervisor references required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients in the PICU
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates residing in Indiana are not accepted for this position
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Current or past IU Health travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment must complete a designated break period to reset eligibility
