Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a 13-week teaching hospital assignment requiring an active NY RN license, Epic charting experience, and NIHSS certification.

Details

• Adult and geriatric ER unit treating all emergency-type diagnoses
• 1:5 patient ratios
• Day (7a-7p) and night (7p-7a) 4x12 hour shifts available
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement, if needed
• Floating required within skillset
• Uses specialized equipment including bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment
• Epic charting experience required

Requirements

• Active New York Single State RN license required in hand (NY is not a compact state)
• Pending licenses not accepted
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (valid NIHSS must be included at submission)
• PALS and TNCC certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Clinical skills required in IV therapy, blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and IV vasopressor administration
• Experience with CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management required
• Experience with CVA, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI care required
• Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• Emergency care experience with adult/pediatric ED, gunshot wounds, and ortho trauma required
• Isolation precautions, triage, and pediatric spinal cord injury skills required

• 528-bed acute care teaching facility that is Magnet-recognized and certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center
• Affiliated with Cleveland Clinic and Roswell Park, offering several specialized services
• Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy blue and white
• Facility may call off up to three shifts during the 13-week contract without incurring charges
• Candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted for RN positions (locals accepted for LPNs)

• Prior travelers must have completed assignment at least 6 months prior to reapplying system-wide
