Description

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN for a 13-week assignment requiring an active NY RN license, EPIC experience, and 2 years of ER experience.

Details

• Adult Emergency Department setting with all emergency-type diagnoses
• Patient ratio of 1:5 for adult and geriatric patients
• Day shift schedules available: 7a-7p or 11a-11p, 4x12 hours
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement, if needed
• Floating required within skillset
• Uses specialized equipment including Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment
• EPIC charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active New York Single State RN license required in hand (NY is not a compact state)
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Preferred certification: PALS, TNCC
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with IV vasopressors and emergency medications
• Skilled in CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management
• Experience with CVA, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI care
• Cardiac monitoring skills including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and 12-lead EKG/ECG
• Experience with emergency care including gunshot wounds and ortho trauma
• Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE and triage
• Experience managing psychiatric emergencies including acute psychosis, drug overdose, and violent or suicidal patients

• Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility for RN positions
• Facility may cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract without incurring charges
• Previous employees must have at least 6 months since their last assignment system-wide
