Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift position requiring an active NY license and EPIC charting experience.

Details

• Work in an 11-bed medical Emergency Department with a separate CPEP (behavioral health) unit
• CPEP unit divided into an evaluation space for up to 6 patients and an Extended Obs space for up to 2 patients
• CPEP staffed with a nurse, PCT, and behavioral health team whenever patients are present
• Patients are triaged and medically cleared prior to entering CPEP space
• Night shift schedule: 1900-0700, 3x12 hour shifts (36 or 48 hours per week)
• Every other weekend required
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Floating required
• Security posted in the ED

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand
• Minimum 1 year of ER nursing experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, TNCC, TRUST, CPIM
• EPIC charting experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across adult and pediatric populations including trauma, psychiatric, cardiac, respiratory, and neurological cases
• Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and managing behavioral health and psychiatric holds
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of emergency medications preferred
• Comfortable managing dysrhythmias, obtaining 12-lead EKGs, and caring for multisystem organ dysfunction patients
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• Candidates with more than 10 days of requested time off will not be considered
