Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN Case Manager with a CA RN license and 2+ years of case management experience for a 13-week acute hospital assignment.
Details
- Acute hospital case management/utilization review unit
- Coordinates utilization management, resource management, discharge planning, post-acute care referrals, and care facilitation
- Oversees care coordination for acute patient populations to prevent unnecessary admissions or readmissions
- Provides discharge planning and intervention for high-risk Emergency Department patients
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
- Minimum of 2 weekend shifts required per month
- If floated, will only float within Case Management
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
- Minimum 2 years of case management experience required
- Minimum 1 year of charge nurse experience required
- Patient ratio experience of 1:20 or more required
- Travel experience required
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Knowledge of InterQual Criteria and Milliman Guidelines
- Experience with utilization review processes including admission criteria, appeals and denials, concurrent review, continued stay reviews, medical necessity, and retrospective review
- Familiarity with regulatory standards including CMS, CPT coding, DRG, HEDIS, HIPAA, ICD-10 coding, NCQA, OSHA, and The Joint Commission standards
- Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required
- Current Nursys licensure verification and certifications with valid expiration dates required
Additional Information
- Coordinates care across the continuum to promote patient wellness, improve outcomes, and minimize denials of payment among patients with complex health needs
- Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
- Returning staff/travelers must have a 1-year separation before returning to this facility
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
- Only 1 holiday request approved per contract, applicable to New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
- Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
- 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
