Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cardiovascular ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 2 years of CVICU experience and prior travel assignment history.
Details
- Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
- 1:1 patient ratios
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (1900-0730)
- Weekend shifts required unless otherwise posted
- Floating required within the hospital to other ICU units
- No floating to sister hospitals
- Uses Epic for charting
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license (pending license accepted)
- Current BLS and ACLS certification required
- Must pass Relias EKG telemetry compliance test
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required, open heart experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Experience with ventilators, IV starts, PA lines/Swan-Ganz monitoring, IABP, and Impella required
- Experience with LVAD/RVAD, pacers, and post-op cardiac care required
- Lung and heart transplant experience preferred
- Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
- Epic charting experience preferred but not required
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular and cardiothoracic ICU patients, including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
- Scrubs of any color permitted; scrubs provided for OR personnel
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
- RTO is limited, with no time off permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays, with limited RTO allowed in November/December
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no mile radius restriction
- Previous UW staff must have a minimum 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
