Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cardiovascular ICU RN for a Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of CVICU experience and prior travel assignment history.
Details
- Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
- Cardio-thoracic ICU patient population with 1:1 patient ratios
- Day shift (0700-1930) or night shift (1900-0730) 4x12 hour schedules available
- Weekend work required unless otherwise stated on posted schedule
- Floating required within the hospital to other ICU units, no floating to sister hospitals
- EPIC charting system used
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or compact license, pending license accepted
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required, open heart experience preferred
- Prior travel assignment experience required
- Hands-on experience with ventilator management, IV starts, and PA (Swan-Ganz) lines required
- Experience with Impella, IABP, and LVAD/RVAD devices
- Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management required
- Experience with pacers and post-op cardiac care preferred
- Lung and heart transplant experience preferred
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to complex cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgical patients
- Any scrub color accepted; scrubs provided for OR personnel
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays during assignment
- RTO limited to 7 days in November/December, spanning no more than 1 holiday
- RTO cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
- Candidates with prior employment at this health system must have a minimum 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
