Description
American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of critical care experience and prior travel assignments with a WA or compact RN license.
Details
- Works in a 23-bed ICU caring for Cardiac ICU patients with overflow from MICU, Trauma ICU, and Neuro ICU
- Primary focus on cardiology patients
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
- Every other weekend required with flexibility for unit needs expected
- Floating to other ICUs and boarder areas should be expected
- No on-call requirements
- No block scheduling accommodations
- Epic charting system required
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years critical care experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and Compliance EKG Exam
- TNCC certification preferred
- Level I Trauma facility experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Prior charge nurse experience preferred
- Two supervisor references required at time of consideration
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
Additional Information
- Care for high acuity cardiac ICU patients with skills in arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, blood product administration, and IV therapy
- Manage ventilated patients, including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and ETT/NT suctioning
- Experience with ECMO, Impella, IABP, and epicardial pacing wire care preferred
- Manage CVVHD/CRRT, continuous IV sedation, and vasoactive/cardiac drip titration
- Neurological skills such as EVD, ICP monitoring, and hypothermia protocol preferred
- Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and obtain 12-lead EKGs
- Facility prefers to avoid placing travel pairs together
- Scrub color is blue, facility-provided as needed or candidate may wear their own solid color
- RTO should be minimal and cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate with no radius restriction
- Prior UW staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a travel RN
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
