Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position requiring Trauma Level I experience and EPIC proficiency.
Details
- Work in a 32-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit providing care to patients with cardiovascular conditions, including heart failure management
- Provide continuous EKG and oxygen saturation monitoring via telemetry
- Administer intravenous and oral medications for cardiac conditions and arrhythmias
- Prepare and send patients for cardiac interventions, surgeries, diagnostic tests, and other procedures
- Uses Omnicell medication system and EPIC EMR
- Schedule consists of 3x12-hour day shifts, 0700-1930
- Weekend coverage required every other weekend, subject to change based on need
- Floating required to other units/campuses as needed based on census, limited to qualified and competency-validated areas
Requirements
- Active SC RN license or multistate/compact license required
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in cardiac telemetry required
- 3 years of specialty experience required for first-time travelers
- Trauma Level I hospital experience required
- Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
- Experience with cardiac drips, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and pacemaker care preferred
- Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization and cardiac surgery care preferred
Additional Information
- Deliver holistic nursing care addressing physical, emotional, psychological, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients and families
- Orientation occurs every Monday and includes annual compliance training
- Pre-assignment testing and compliance modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
- Travelers must reside more than 100 miles from any facility within the health system to be eligible for full travel pay, with reduced rates for those 90-99.9 miles away
- Night shift travelers in this specialty must reside at least 50 miles from the contracted campus, with full rate eligibility at 100+ miles
- Candidates with 1+ years of recent unit experience will be considered
- First-time travelers may be considered with 3+ years of specialty experience
- Travelers may not extend beyond a third consecutive 13-week contract and must complete a six-month separation before returning as a traveler if not converting to a permanent role
