Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced PACU RN with at least 3 years of specialty experience and Epic charting proficiency for a teaching hospital in Minnesota.
Details
- Work in the PACU/Pre-Op/Phase 2 department of an acute care teaching hospital with Level 3 trauma designation
- Day shifts (3x12 hours) with start times of 5:30 or 9:30
- Weekend shifts required as needed
- No on-call requirements
- Float required within scope to both the main hospital and Day Surgery Center Perianesthesia departments
- Open to block scheduling arrangements
- Epic (Excellian) EMR used for charting
Requirements
- Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted)
- Minimum 3 years of PACU experience required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS required; NIHSS and PALS preferred
- Epic/Excellian charting experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Proficiency in PACU-related skills such as airway assessment, extubation, ABG interpretation, arterial line management, and post-op care
- Experience with pre/post-operative patient care including discharge instructions, medication reconciliation, and pre-op assessments
- At least one supervisor reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide perianesthesia nursing care across Phase I and Phase II recovery, pre-op, and pain management settings
- Support a wide range of surgical specialties including cardiac, ortho, neuro/spine, GI, vascular, GYN, and plastics
- Float within the hospital system or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
- Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- First-time travelers will not be considered
- Returning staff must have been separated from permanent employment for at least 3 months prior to starting
- Requested RTO should ideally be no more than 5 days
- Scrubs provided by the unit
- Facility does not provide references to travelers post-assignment or to former permanent employees
