Description
American Traveler is hiring a RN - Med/Surg Telemetry IMC Float position requiring Level 1 Trauma acute care experience and prior travel or float pool experience.
Details
- Float pool position covering Medical, Surgical, and Cardiology units within the facility
- Day shift from 0700-1930
- Weekend hours vary based on unit need
- No call requirements
- Floats every shift to units ranging from 15 to 40+ beds
- Typical patient ratios are 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights, with potential for stretching to 1:5 or 1:6
- Uses Abbott Plum Pumps
- Utilizes EPIC EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license (State of Maine or compact) required
- BLS required, ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years inpatient hospital experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience in a 500+ bed facility required
- Minimum 1 year travel or float pool experience required
- Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
- Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references required
Additional Information
- Floats across multiple medical, surgical, and cardiology units based on facility need
- Flexibility is essential for this role
- Scrubs must be clean and professional in any color; jeans, t-shirts, open-toed shoes, and shoes with holes are not permitted
- Education modules will be assigned by the facility's Education Department for Day 1 onboarding
- First-time travelers are not specifically excluded, though prior travel or float pool experience is preferred for success
- Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should disclose this
- Local candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility are eligible to apply but are not eligible for renewals or extensions
- RTO should be minimal, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract, subject to manager discretion
- Airpods, laptops, and cell phone usage are prohibited on the unit
