Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a busy telemetry floor specializing in spinal cord injury and flap patients, requiring a CO or compact RN license and at least one year of recent hospital Med/Surg experience.
Details
- 33-room unit with up to 49 beds, including some semi-private rooms used during high census
- Patient ratios of 4:1 on day shift and 5:1 on night shift
- Uses telemetry monitoring equipment
- Charting performed in Meditech
- Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- 13-week assignment length
Requirements
- Active RN license (CO or compact) required
- Minimum 1 year of current hospital Med/Surg experience required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Experience with spinal cord injury (SCI) patients preferred
- No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
Additional Information
- Care for patients with spinal cord injuries and stage 4 wounds requiring surgical intervention
- Partner with the burn unit to provide care for low-acuity burn patients
- Perform wound care and occasional bowel program care
- Occasional light burn care duties
- Best suited for RNs who enjoy a fast-paced, busy floor environment
- Unit staffed with charge nurses and techs on both day and night shifts
- Local candidates will not be considered
