Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry IMC Float Pool position requiring Level 1 Trauma acute care hospital experience and prior travel assignment experience.

Details

  • Float Pool position covering Medical, Surgical, and Cardiology units within the facility
  • Day shift schedule from 0700-1930
  • Patient ratios typically 1:4 on days (up to 1:5 when stretched) and 1:5 on nights (up to 1:6 when stretched)
  • Units range from 15 beds to 40+ beds depending on where staff is floated
  • Uses Abbott Plum Pumps and EPIC EMR
  • Will float every shift to multiple different units
  • No on-call requirements
  • Weekend hours will vary based on unit need

Requirements

  • Active RN license (State of Maine or compact) required
  • BLS required, ACLS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years inpatient acute care hospital experience required
  • Level 1 Trauma experience required in a facility with 500+ beds
  • Minimum 1 year travel experience required
  • Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
  • Driver's License required for consideration
  • 2 professional references required

Additional Information

  • Care for patients floated across Medical, Surgical, and Cardiology units based on facility need
  • Education modules will be assigned by the facility's Education Department for Day 1 onboarding
  • Flexibility is essential given variable unit assignments and patient populations
  • Scrubs may be any clean, professional color; jeans, t-shirts, open-toed shoes, and shoes with holes (such as Crocs) are not permitted
  • Floating may occur within a 25-mile radius between facilities as needed
  • Candidates located within 90 miles of any affiliated facility are considered local and not eligible for renewals or extensions
  • RTO should be kept to a minimum, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract
  • Candidates with prior employment at an affiliated facility within the past 12 months should disclose this during consideration
  • First-time travelers are not preferred; prior travel or float pool experience is strongly recommended for success in this role
