Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN Case Manager for an acute care hospital setting requiring 2 years of acute hospital case management experience and a CA RN license.
Details
- Acute hospital Case Management/Utilization Review department
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Required to work every other weekend
- Floating required between like units based on facility need
- No on-call responsibilities
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active CA RN license (Compact license must be in hand at time of consideration)
- 2 years of acute hospital case management experience performing care coordination and discharge planning
- Prior travel experience required, though first-time travelers may be considered with clinical manager approval
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience with admission criteria, appeals and denials, benefits eligibility, care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment/DME ordering, and prior authorizations
- Knowledge of CMS guidelines, HIPAA, and The Joint Commission/Core Measure/National Safety Goals
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable setting
Additional Information
- Coordinate patient care, conduct discharge planning, and manage utilization review processes
- May float between sister facilities near the contracted site as needed
- Local candidates accepted
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate; local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- First-time travelers may be considered with clinical manager approval
