Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse Case Manager with acute care case management experience for an in-person position requiring CA RN licensure.
Details
- Acute hospital Case Management/Utilization Review department
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (8:00 AM-4:30 PM)
- Required to work every other weekend
- No call responsibilities
- Floating required between like units based on need
- Epic charting system used
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- 2 years of acute hospital case management experience performing care coordination and discharge planning
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred, though first-time travelers may be considered with clinical manager approval
- Experience with admission criteria, benefits eligibility, care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment/DME ordering, prior authorizations, and appeals/denials
- Knowledge of CMS, DRG, HIPAA guidelines, and The Joint Commission/Core Measure/National Safety Goals regulations
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment, DME ordering, and managing prior authorizations, appeals, and denials
- May be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted facility
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
- Local candidates accepted
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are considered local
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years are required during the compliance process
