Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for an acute hospital Case Management/Utilization Review role requiring prior travel experience and every-other-weekend availability.
Details
- Acute hospital Case Management/Utilization Review department
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Required to work every other weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- Float to like units based on facility need
- Uses Epic charting system
- Accepts local candidates
Requirements
- Active CA RN license (Compact license must be in hand at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of acute hospital Case Management experience in care coordination and discharge planning
- Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers may be considered with manager approval
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience with admission criteria, appeals and denials, benefits eligibility, care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment/DME ordering, and prior authorizations
- Knowledge of CMS, DRG, HIPAA, and Joint Commission/Core Measure/National Safety Goals regulations
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Coordinate patient care, manage discharge planning, and perform utilization review functions
- Responsibilities include admission criteria review, appeals and denials management, benefits eligibility verification, and DME ordering
- Must float between sister facilities within the system as needed
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period and must live more than 50 miles from the facility
- Local radius rule of 50 miles applies; candidates within this radius accepted at a lower bill rate
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application
- Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
- Free parking available on first day, with assignment parking provided during orientation
