Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown/Medical IMCU position requiring IMCU and telemetry experience along with an active MA RN license.
Details
- Work in a 27-bed Medical IMCU unit treating a mix of IMCU, neurology, and medsurg patients
- High volume of neurology, medicine, and cardiology patients, including chronic vent, trach, and high-acuity heart failure cases
- Patient ratios average 1:3 for IMCU patients and 1:4 or 1:4-5 when caring for MedSurg patients
- 12-hour flex shifts on a 36-hour schedule, including day/night rotation
- Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Uses auto med dispensing systems and independent telemetry rhythm strip interpretation
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of IMCU experience required
- 2+ years of recent medsurg and telemetry experience required
- Experience with neuro care, MIs, and trach patients required
- Ability to care for patients with complex medical needs
- Must independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips
- Critical care experience preferred
- Must pass a telemetry test on day one of assignment
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care to a mix of IMCU, neurology, and medsurg patients with complex medical needs
- Previous permanent staff at this facility are not eligible to apply as travelers
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are considered local
- First-time travelers may be considered for this position
