Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU/CCU RN for a night shift assignment requiring open-heart recovery experience and a WA or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the Cardiovascular/Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of a hospital setting
- Caring for post-cardiac surgery patients, including those recovering directly from the OR
- Patient ratio of 1:2-3
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
- EPIC charting system experience required
- Floating within the hospital may be required based on patient care needs
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand
- Minimum 2-3 years of ICU/CCU experience required
- Open-heart surgery and fresh post-surgical recovery experience required
- Device experience with Impella, IABP, or similar balloon pumps preferred
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Skills required include arterial line management, central/PICC line care, IV therapy, blood product administration, ventilator management, and interpretation of ABGs/dysrhythmias
- Experience with CRRT/CVVHD, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and managing emergency medications required
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular and post-surgical ICU patients
- Complete facility orientation modules, which average 8-12 hours and are signed off by facility managers
- Maximum of 5 days RTO permitted per assignment, with no holiday-based RTO approved, including the holiday and surrounding weekend
- No block schedules permitted for this assignment
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate as non-local travelers
- Travel pairs accepted
- Former staff must be separated from the facility/system for at least 1 year before being eligible for rehire as a traveler
