Description
American Traveler is hiring a Tele Float RN with MA licensure and 2+ years of telemetry experience for a night shift assignment requiring floating to all telemetry units.
Details
- Tele Float position requiring float coverage to all telemetry units
- MS/Tele, Telemetry, and Orthopedic patient populations
- Night shift, 4x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
- Every other weekend/every other holiday (EOW/EOH) scheduling
- 48 hours per week commitment
- Epic charting system preferred
- Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required in hand
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central/peripheral/PICC line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Respiratory skills including chest tube management, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, and tracheostomy care
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and rapid response/code team participation
- Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, wound care/wound vac, and cardiac drip management (no titration)
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Experience with CVA and traumatic brain injury care preferred
- Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care
- Experience with skin grafts and surgical drains preferred
- 2 professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher
Additional Information
- Provide telemetry nursing care across multiple float units within the medical center
- Must pass a pass/fail telemetry exam and a pass/fail medication exam during orientation, each with one attempt allowed
- Multiple study materials provided during compliance process and facility-directed interviews to support exam preparation
- Up to 1 of 3 upcoming major holidays may be requested off
- Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
- First-time travelers considered if they have previous floating experience
- Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at the same bill rate
- Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
- Candidates with prior actions on their nursing license cannot be considered
