Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department requiring TNCC, ACLS, and BLS certifications along with CT or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department, combined adult/pediatric population
- Average patient ratio of 1:6
- Evening shift, 3x12 hours (15:00-03:00)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
- Assigned to one campus with possible rotation to other campuses
- Travelers do not staff trauma/rescue rooms, triage, or locked behavioral health units
- Epic charting system used
Requirements
- Active CT or compact RN license required (pending license accepted)
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- NIHSS and PALS certifications preferred
- 2 years of ED experience preferred, minimum 1.5 years from a similar hospital accepted
- Prior travel experience preferred, with flexibility for candidates with 3+ years of experience and 1-2 completed travel assignments
- Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
- Teaching and community hospital experience preferred
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Skilled in pediatric emergency care, trauma/shock management, cardiac monitoring, and respiratory interventions
- 1 professional reference required
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care across a broad range of conditions including trauma, cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, and pediatric cases
- Royal blue scrub color required
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
- Previously employed staff must have a 2-year separation before returning as a traveler
- RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
- Local candidates are not accepted; candidates within 75 miles of the facility are considered local
- Guaranteed hours included for this assignment
