Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department role at a Level I Trauma Center requiring a CT or compact license and TNCC, ACLS, and BLS certifications.

Details

• Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department serving a combined adult/pediatric patient population
• Average patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift schedules consisting of 3x12-hour shifts, either 7:00-19:00 or 9:00-21:00
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• Open to block scheduling
• Assigned to one campus with possibility of rotating to other campuses
• Travelers are not assigned to trauma/rescue rooms, triage, or locked behavioral health units
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active or pending CT RN license (Standard or Compact)
• BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
• PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience preferred, 1.5 years considered from a similar hospital setting
• Previous travel experience required, though candidates with 1-2 completed assignments and 3+ years experience will be considered
• Experience with Level I or Level II Trauma Center settings preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skilled in emergency department procedures including IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, respiratory management, and neurological care
• One professional reference required

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across pediatric and adult populations including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric cases
• Perform skills such as EKG interpretation, splint application, chest tube management, and ABG interpretation
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required with religious or medical exemptions only
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
• Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
• Local candidates not accepted if residing within 75 miles of the facility
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
