Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on night shift, requiring IL RN licensure and prior cardiac telemetry experience.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit providing cardiac telemetry and medical-surgical care
• 3x12-hour night shifts from 18:45-7:15, scheduled Friday, Saturday, and Sunday block
• Manages cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) and heparin protocols
• Performs cardiac monitoring with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Utilizes rapid response/code teams as needed
• Provides pre/post cardiac catheterization care
• All travelers float within the service line

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• MO RN license or compact license accepted (no issuance if tied to another compact state)
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of cardiac/telemetry experience required
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Proficient in starting and maintaining IVs
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiac telemetry patients, including medication management and emergency response
• Facial hair must allow for proper respiratory fit testing or will need to be shaved
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
• Standard travelers may stay up to 18 months, followed by a required 3-month break in service
• Permanent employees of the health system must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract; no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on position requirements
