Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week night shift contract requiring High-Risk OB experience and advanced fetal monitoring certification.
Details
- Labor & Delivery unit with 12 LDR beds, 5 Ante Partum beds, 4 OBED, and 3 OR rooms
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM over a 13-week assignment
- Patient ratios of 1:2 and 1:1 depending on transition and acuity
- Unit performs C-sections, SVD, D&C, D&E, twin deliveries, scheduled and emergent C-Hysterectomy, and massive transfusion procedures
- Uses Alaris pumps and CADD epidural pumps
- EMR systems include CPN and Meditech
- Self-scheduling model used among team members
- 4 weekend shifts required per scheduling period
- No call requirements
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2-3 years of High-Risk OB nursing experience required
- Current certification in Advanced EFM or AWHONN Intermediate EFM required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
- No certifications may expire within the first 30 days of assignment start
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
- One professional reference required
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Labor & Delivery setting including high-risk OB cases
- Experience with placenta accreta spectrum disorders (PASD) preferred
- Facility is a Level II Trauma ED serving obstetrical patients with Level I and II injuries
- Maternal Designation Level III and Neonatal Level II status, both advancing to next accreditation steps
- Joint Commission accredited in Women's Services
- Highly engaged, team-oriented staff with a mix of tenured and newer nurses
- Physicians and management team maintain active presence and strong relationships with staff, including rounding on night and weekend shifts
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
