Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Oncology Tele unit position requiring 2 years of experience and EPIC charting proficiency.
Details
- Work in the Medical Surgical Oncology unit of an acute care hospital with 233 staffed beds
- Patient ratios of 1:5-6
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00-19:30)
- Weekend requirement of 2 shifts every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within scope and service line to meet facility needs
- Uses EPIC charting system
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required
- BLS, NIHSS certifications required
- Fire safety certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, accessing and maintaining ports, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Oncology experience including administration and monitoring of chemotherapy preferred
- Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills, including dysrhythmia interpretation
- Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
- Experience with PCA medication administration preferred
Additional Information
- Provide medical-surgical oncology nursing care including chemotherapy administration and monitoring
- Respond to rapid response and code team situations as needed
- Navy scrub color required
- Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
- Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of orientation
- Additional RTO beyond 7 days requires manager approval
- Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
- Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period before requiring a 3-month break in service
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Facial hair must allow for proper respirator fit testing or must be shaved
