Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU Float RN for a Nursing Resource Team role requiring float coverage across ICU, PCU, and ER units at a Level II trauma facility.
Details
- Nursing Resource Team (float pool) position floating between ER, ICU (Cardiac ICU and Trauma/Neuro ICU), and PCU units
- Acute care setting within a Level II Trauma facility
- 12-hour night shifts
- ICU ratios of 1:1-2 and PCU ratios of 1:3-4
- Units range from 21-35 beds depending on assignment
- May float mid-shift as needed between units
- Uses EPIC EMR system
Requirements
- Active RN license (State of Idaho or compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience within the last 2 years at a Level I or II Trauma facility required
- Prior experience working in or floating to PCU with comfort in those ratios required
- Prior experience working in or floating to ER with true patient assignment experience required
- Experience with cardiac drips required
- Experience with non-invasive ventilation required
- Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program (ASN or BSN accepted, BSN preferred)
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Department of Health & Welfare background fingerprinting required
Additional Information
- Provides direct patient care across ER, ICU, and PCU units based on hospital-wide staffing needs
- Will care for ED pod patients, boarded patients, and take true ER patient assignments when floated to the ER
- Receives unit assignment notification approximately 2 hours prior to shift start
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
- Facility does not accept local candidates for this role
