Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level IV NICU position requiring at least 2 years of NICU III/IV experience with a minimum of 1 year in a Level IV unit.
Details
- Work in the NICU of a Magnet-designated, Level IV pediatric facility
- Patient population includes neonates ranging from under 24 weeks to over 34 weeks gestation
- Patient ratio of 1:1 to 1:3
- Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Required to work 2-3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period
- Floating required as needed
- Epic EMR used for charting
Requirements
- Active RN license (WI or compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS and NRP required (AHA only), PALS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of total NICU III/IV experience required, with at least 1 year in a Level IV NICU
- Experience with post-op patients, g-tubes, and trach/vent management required
- Experience with various modes of invasive and noninvasive ventilation required
- Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the last 12 months
- Must have at least 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
- Prior travel nursing experience required, with at least one Level IV NICU travel assignment preferred
Additional Information
- Provide specialized nursing care within a Level One Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU
- Must pass a pass/fail telemetry exam with strict criteria prior to start, including adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation components
- Up to two attempts allowed for telemetry exam, with additional requirements if further attempts are needed
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
- First-time travelers with Level IV NICU experience will be considered
