Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN - Operating Room for a surgical services position requiring KY or compact RN licensure and BLS certification.

Details

• Work in a multidiscipline surgical services department with four operating rooms and four procedure rooms serving over 9,000 patients annually
• Services include endoscopy, pain management, ENT, general surgery, hand and foot procedures, and orthopedic procedures
• Day shift schedule of 4x10-hour shifts, approximately 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Monthly weekend requirement
• On-call requirement twice per month
• Possible holiday shift coverage if contract dates fall within a holiday period

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact)
• BLS certification required
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• No prior OR experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with care team members
• Comfort with computer systems and applications or ability to be trained

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation throughout the surgical process
• Facilitate patient and family education, discharge planning, and care coordination
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures such as patient satisfaction and safety initiatives
• Collaborate with inter-professional team members and delegate tasks appropriately
• Must reside within 75 miles of the facility to qualify for travel pay rate; local candidates accepted at a lower rate
