Description
American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown RN for a 13-week night shift contract requiring MO or compact RN license, 1+ years of PCU/stepdown experience, and Epic proficiency.
Details
- PCU/Stepdown/DOU/IMC unit setting
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:00)
- Every other weekend required
- Epic charting system used
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of stepdown/PCU nursing experience required
- Prior charge nurse experience required
- Community hospital experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience with telemetry monitoring, cardiac drip management, and dysrhythmia interpretation required
- Skilled in central/PICC/peripheral line care, IV therapy, and blood product administration
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and oxygen administration
- Experience with wound care, isolation precautions, and insulin drip titration
- Experience with cardiac monitoring post-cath/angiogram, pacemakers, and sheath removal
Additional Information
- Provide stepdown-level nursing care to cardiac, respiratory, renal, and post-procedural patients
- Must shave facial hair to ensure proper mask seal for respirator fit testing, with no medical or religious exemptions accepted
- CAPRs and PAPRs are not provided, and personal CAPR/PAPR use is not permitted
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Must work 4 of 8 designated holiday dates around Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates living within 70 miles of the facility are considered local and are not accepted for this assignment
- Travelers cannot work more than 1 year at this facility and must take a 6-month break before returning
