Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2 years of experience and ACLS/BLS certification at a Level I trauma teaching hospital.
Details
- Med/Surg Tele unit in a short-term acute care, teaching hospital with Level I trauma designation
- Patient ratios of 1:4-5
- Patient population includes medical surgical, post-interventional, neuro overflow, surgical overflow, pre/post operative, and high-acuity patients
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within service line, including potential float to another area on Sundays when the unit is closed
- Uses Epic for charting
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required (pending license accepted)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of medical surgical nursing experience required
- Must pass Relias EKG exam covering interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and IV therapy/phlebotomy
- Experience with peripheral line care and management
- Experience with acute medicine, tube feeds, oxygen titration, and total patient care
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care including phlebotomy and management of high-acuity, high-turnover medical surgical and telemetry patients
- Navy scrub color required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
- Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
- Returning travelers must complete an 18-month tenure limit followed by a required 3-month break in service
- Former permanent employees of BJC or Saint Luke's must wait 1 year before returning as a travel contractor
- Must be clean-shaven or have facial hair compliant with respirator fit testing requirements
