Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Float Pool RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years MS/Tele experience and ACLS certification.
Details
- Short term acute care hospital setting on a Med/Surg Float Pool unit
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15)
- Patient ratios of 1:5-6 on days/weekends and 1:6 on nights
- Floats to all Medical units, renal, oncology, cardiology, and neuro based on facility needs
- Float pool staff call a recorded line up to 1 hour before shift start to receive unit assignment
- Every other weekend required, or minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule, plus holiday rotation obligation
- No on-call requirements
- Uses EPIC charting system
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required (must match permanent residence for compact)
- Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele nursing experience required (hard requirement)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- IV start and telemetry certification required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Skills in IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, phlebotomy, feeding tube management, HFNC, ABG interpretation, oxygen administration, dysrhythmia management, remote telemetry monitoring, wound care/wound vac, and PCA medication management
- Experience with lift devices and ceiling lifts (training provided) and bladder scanner use
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care across medical, surgical, oncology, neuro, and cardiology units as part of the float pool
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Free parking available on-site
- First-time travelers welcome to apply
- Pending license candidates accepted
- Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
- No local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius
- Former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler to any BJC facility
- Returning travelers must complete an 18-month break of 3 months after an 18-month assignment period
