Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with at least 2 years of OR experience across multiple surgical specialties for a day-shift assignment requiring weekend call.
Details
- Operating Room unit setting
- Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts, 7:00 AM-5:00 PM, no scheduled weekends
- Weekend call required (currently 1 in 4)
- Holiday coverage as needed
- Floating required as needed
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Cerner charting system, with Epic experience preferred
- Cases span General Surgery, Cataracts, Robotics, Orthopedics, and GYN procedures
Requirements
- Active WI RN license or compact license required
- BLS and ACLS certification (AHA only) required
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience required within General Surgery, Cataracts, Robotics, Orthopedics, and GYN
- Prior travel RN experience required
- Must have 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
- Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to start, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and a minimum score of 80%
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
Additional Information
- Perform circulating and scrub duties across a wide range of surgical specialties including GYN, Orthopedics, General Surgery, Urology, ENT, and Robotics
- Experience with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System preferred
- Experience with conscious sedation monitoring and cardiac monitoring preferred
- Teaching hospital and trauma hospital experience preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Free onsite parking available
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
- RTO cannot be requested during orientation week and should be kept to a minimum
- Former UW Health staff must be separated from the facility for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
