Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with WI or compact license and 2+ years of OR experience for a day-shift assignment requiring weekend call rotation.
Details
- Operating Room unit assignment
- Day shift, 4x8-hour shifts, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
- No scheduled weekends but weekend call required (currently 1 in 4)
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- Floating required as needed
- Patient ratio of 1:1
- Cerner charting system used, experience preferred
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience required within General Surgery, Cataracts, Robotics, Orthopedics, and GYN specialties
- 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Skills in gynecological, orthopedic, general surgery, and robotic surgical procedures preferred
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and conscious sedation monitoring preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
Additional Information
- Must reside within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates not accepted
- Pass/fail telemetry exam required prior to start with strict passing criteria for adult and pediatric rhythm identification
- Up to two attempts allowed for telemetry exam, with a third attempt requiring completion of a cardiac interpretation review course
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
- RTO cannot be requested during orientation week and should be kept to a minimum
- Prior UW Health staff must have a separation period of 18 months before returning as a traveler
- Free onsite parking available
