Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position on night shift, requiring telemetry skills and the ability to float across a large acute care campus.
Details
- Short term acute care, Level I/II trauma teaching hospital with 1,259 staffed beds
- Float Pool role covering Med Surg, Trauma, Oncology, Heart and Vascular, Neuro, Medicine/COVID, and ED Holding/Boarding units
- Floats shift to shift to all inpatient areas (excluding Women's/Infant and L&D)
- Patient ratios of 1:4-6
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
- Option to sign for 36 or 48 hours per week
- Required to work every other weekend
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required (compact must match permanent residence)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with at least 1 year recent Med Surg or Med Surg/Tele experience in an acute care inpatient facility
- IV start and telemetry skills required
- Travel nursing experience required
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- CPI, NIHSS, and OCN certifications preferred
Additional Information
- Serves as a float pool nurse supporting multiple inpatient units across a large hospital campus
- Navy scrub color required
- Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility, as no local candidates are accepted within this radius
- Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period, followed by a required 3-month break in service
- Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
- No more than 7 days of RTO allowed per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
- Facial hair must allow for proper respirator fit testing or must be shaved
