Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ED experience with adult and pediatric populations and WI or Compact RN licensure.

• Combined adult/pediatric Emergency Department setting
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 1830 to 0700
• Weekend rotation and every-other-holiday coverage required
• Facility will consider 4x12 schedules and assignments up to 26 weeks
• Floating required as needed
• Cerner charting system preferred
• Free onsite parking available

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications (AHA only) required
• NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience with adult and pediatric populations within the last 3 years required
• 5+ years of ED experience preferred
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict criteria (adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation) prior to starting
• Skills needed include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator patient care, ABG interpretation, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation monitoring
• Experience with arterial line management and blood product administration preferred
• Must be proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition, and triage
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure required
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a combined adult and pediatric patient population
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Prior UW staff must be separated from the facility for 18 months before returning as a traveler
• RTO cannot be requested during orientation week and should be kept to a minimum
• Teaching hospital and trauma hospital experience preferred
• Part of a hospital system dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality patient and family care
