Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring 2+ years CVICU/CCU/ICU experience and open-heart recovery skills.
Details
- Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting
- Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
- 18-week assignment length
- Recovers fresh open-heart surgery patients directly from the OR
- Patient ratio of 1:2-3
- Floating within the hospital may be required based on patient care needs
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active Washington (WA) or compact RN license required in hand
- Minimum 2-3 years of CVICU/CCU/ICU experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification required
- Open-heart surgery recovery experience required
- Device experience with Impella, IABP, or similar balloon pumps preferred
- Experience with CABG, TAVR, and valve repair/replacement preferred
- Skilled in arterial line, central line, and PICC line management
- Experience with ventilator management and care of ventilated patients
- Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Experience managing patients with dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction
- Travel experience required
- Prior travel contract experience required
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to post-cardiac surgery and cardiovascular patients
- Perform cardiac monitoring including FloTrac/Vigileo and 12-lead EKG interpretation
- Manage patients with CRRT/CVVHD and acute/chronic renal failure
- Assist with sheath removal and pre/post cardiac cath interventions
- Complete facility orientation modules signed off by unit managers
- Maximum of 5 days RTO permitted per assignment, all requests must be disclosed prior to starting
- No block scheduling permitted
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as non-local travelers
- Travel pairs accepted
- Former staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before being considered for a travel assignment
