Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III/IV NICU position requiring 2 years of Level III NICU experience and NM or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Work in the NICU of a Level I Trauma, Teaching, Children's Hospital
- Mixed acuity unit caring for neonates from under 23 weeks gestation through full-term newborns
- Must be able to care for Level 4 NICU acuity patients
- Typical patient ratio is 1:3, with occasional 1:4 during surge periods
- Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:30
- Cerner EMR used for charting
- Required to float within scope to Pediatric ICU, Level II NICU, and MBU as needed
- No on-call requirements
- Must work 12 weekend shifts per contract
- Scheduled for 36 hours per week
Requirements
- Active RN license (NM or Compact) required
- Current certifications: BLS and NRP
- Minimum 2 years of Level III NICU experience required
- Proficiency with IV vasopressors required
- Proficiency with High Frequency Ventilation required
- Proficiency with High Flow Nasal Cannula required
- Experience managing Respiratory Distress Syndrome required
- Ventilator management experience required (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Pending license accepted
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to a mixed-acuity neonatal population including micro-preemies and full-term infants
- Black scrub color required
- No holiday RTO available for December contract starts
- Must work 2 of the following 3 holiday bundles: Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, or New Year's Eve and New Year's Day
- Requests for more than 7 days of RTO require approval
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- COVID vaccine is optional, though candidates must upload vaccination series or submit a declination
- Not open to local candidates within 100 miles of the facility
- A 6-month system break is required after completing 4 consecutive assignments or reaching the one-year mark, whichever comes first
- Former staff must have a 12-month separation before returning
