Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position at a tertiary care hospital, requiring NY RN licensure in hand and NIHSS certification.

Details

• 26-bed Med/Surg Tele unit within a 528-bed tertiary care hospital
• Cares for patients post-PCI, pacemakers, AICDs, post-MI, and those undergoing cardiac pharmacological interventions
• Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 for MedSurg
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand - no exceptions
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Current BLS and NIHSS certification required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and Rapid Response/Code team use
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Respiratory care experience including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tank use
• Experience with isolation precautions required
• Prior travel nursing experience required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for cardiac and post-surgical Med/Surg Tele patients
• Scrub colors limited to any combination of navy and white
• Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be considered
• Previous employees must have a 6-month system-wide break in service to be eligible for rehire
• Candidates with more than 10 days of requested RTO will not be considered
