Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and a MO or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a short-term acute care hospital with 110 staffed beds
- General medical and surgical patient population
- Patient ratios of 1:5-6
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Float to Progress West and other units (surgical, telemetry) as needed within scope
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active RN license (MO or compact, not tied to another compact state)
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required by compliance deadline for Barnes-Jewish Hospital location
- 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Experience administering and monitoring chemotherapy preferred
- Feeding tube care and management experience
- Non-invasive airway management experience
- IV therapy/phlebotomy and peripheral line care/management experience
- Must be clean-shaven or have facial hair compatible with respirator fit testing
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care on a general medical-surgical unit
- Navy scrub color required
- Initial orientation partially scheduled on weekdays due to limited weekend class availability
- Free parking available onsite
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Pending license accepted at time of submission
- Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
- Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of assignment
- Permanent BJC or Saint Luke's employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Travelers may work up to an 18-month tenure, followed by a required 3-month break in service
