Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position requiring 2+ years of cath lab scrub experience and ACLS certification.
Details
- Work in a 1st floor Cardiac Cath Lab within a Joint Commission accredited hospital
- Adult and geriatric patient population with a 3:1 patient ratio
- Common diagnoses include CAD, PAD, NSTEMI, PE, and DVT
- Uses GE Innova X-ray and Merge Hemo equipment
- Meditech EHR experience preferred
- Schedule consists of four 10-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (or 7A-5:30P with a 30-minute lunch)
- No weekend or call requirements
- Floating required to Interventional Radiology
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand
- ACLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of cath lab scrub experience required
- RN or Rad Tech education required
- Cath lab scrub skills required
- PCI and peripheral intervention experience preferred
Additional Information
- Scrubs for cardiac catheterization procedures under the supervision of the RN Director
- Facility provides scrub attire
- Positivity and flexibility are valued personality traits for this role
- Orientation is held on a bi-weekly basis
- Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
- Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
- Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis

Doctors and most of staff are nice. Surgeries are not hard.
Cons
No staff so a lot of call. You will be on call within your first week or two, even if you don't know how to do anything. Unorganized. The director and supervisor don't know anything about the OR nor are they helpful. New staff are not properly trained. Everything falls on the OR nurse to do. They preop in house patients getting surgery. A couple of OR staff are bullies and lazy, they all think they are the boss. They tell the charge nurse what they are going to do and not going to do. Its like high school all over. Had to leave out of fear for my license.
