Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2-3 years of ER experience and a CA RN license.

Details

• General Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric patients
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 1900-0730
• Weekend rotation required
• No on-call requirement

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC required; NIHSS preferred
• 2-3 years of recent ER experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in pediatric emergency care including asthma, head injury, seizures, and respiratory infection
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with triage and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with neuro-trauma, CVA, and traumatic brain injury preferred
• Experience with shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Manage care of assigned patients and direct activities of ancillary staff
• Work collaboratively with physicians and allied support services to address physical, psycho-social, safety, rehabilitative, and learning needs of patients and families
• Holiday coverage may be required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Only 1 holiday RTO request approved per contract
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• First-time travelers considered if candidate has prior ED experience, with 3 years preferred
• Returning employees must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
