Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Stepdown/IMCU position requiring an active MA RN license and prior IMCU, medsurg, and telemetry experience.
Details
- Works in a 27-bed Stepdown/IMCU unit caring for a mix of IMCU, neurology, and medsurg patients
- High volume of neurology, medicine, and cardiology patients including chronic vent, trach, and high-acuity heart failure cases
- Patient ratios average 1:3 for IMCU patients and 1:4 to 1:4-5 for MedSurg patients
- 12-hour night shifts (PM-based, 36 hrs/week)
- Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Utilizes auto med dispensing systems
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of IMCU experience required
- Minimum 2+ years of recent medsurg and telemetry experience required
- Experience with neuro care, MIs, and trach patients required
- Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips
- Must pass a telemetry test on day 1 of assignment
- Critical care experience preferred
- Ability to care for patients with complex medical needs
Additional Information
- Previous permanent staff of the facility are not eligible to apply as travelers
- Candidates residing less than 50 miles from the facility are considered local
- First-time travelers may be considered if they meet the experience requirements
