Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with Level I trauma experience and a PA or compact RN license for a 13-week evening shift assignment.

Details

• Operating Room unit with approximately 14 rooms serving adult and geriatric patients
• Supports General OR, Neuro, Orthopedic, Vascular and Transplant surgical procedures
• Common procedures include appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic surgery, thyroidectomy and Whipple procedures
• Neuro cases include spinal fusion, cervical and lumbar procedures, craniotomy and laminectomy/discectomy
• Orthopedic cases include total hip and knee replacements, fracture procedures and spine cases
• Vascular cases include carotid procedures, AV fistula repair, femoral-popliteal bypass and abdominal aortic aneurysm repair
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Evening shift, 5x8 hours, 2:45pm-11:15pm
• Floating required based on facility needs
• Weekend call required, approximately 6 weekday call shifts and 2 weekend call rotations

Requirements

• Active PA or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required; TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience required
• Level I trauma experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience required
• Strong General OR, total joint, neuro, transplant, vascular and general surgery experience required
• Experience with high-acuity and trauma surgical cases expected
• Skills in vascular procedures such as AAA repair, AV fistula repair, carotid endarterectomy and femoral-popliteal bypass required
• Skills in neuro procedures such as craniotomy, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion and ALIF required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Valid references and copies of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a broad surgical service line including trauma, orthopedic, vascular and neuro cases
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Local candidates accepted with a local rate differential within a 50-mile radius
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• PA fingerprints are required and must be completed within one week of signing
• Labs must be completed within 48 hours of signing
• RTO must be submitted at time of application; no additional time off accepted after submission
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
