Position: Float Psych RN - Nights

Location: Holyoke, MA

Schedule: Full-time, 40 Hours (8-hour shifts) - includes every other weekend

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our innovative team in a new Behavioral Health Hospital. This position involves providing both direct and indirect care to patients in an inpatient psychiatric setting. As a member of the healthcare team, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe therapeutic environment and contributing to individual treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate actively as a member of the health care team.
• Provide direct and indirect care to patients, families, and legal guardians.
• Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary treatment team to develop, implement, and document treatment goals and interventions.
• Support the maintenance of a safe therapeutic milieu grounded in established core principles.

Qualifications

• Education: RN license within the State of Massachusetts required; BSN preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of one year of inpatient psychiatric experience required. Previous experience in psychiatric or substance use treatment preferred. CPR certification required.
• Skills:
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to make decisions and solve problems.
  • Advanced knowledge of Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse treatment modalities.
  • Proficient in the nursing process from a Trauma-Informed Recovery model of care.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Competence in using electronic medical records and technology.
  • Strong crisis management and time management capabilities.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries while developing therapeutic relationships.
  • Flexibility, creativity, and the ability to manage stressful situations in a calm and organized manner.

Shift Information
