Position: Registered Nurse - Float Psych RN

Location: Holyoke, MA

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week (8-hour shifts), includes every other weekend

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team, providing exceptional care in a dynamic behavioral health environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with adult and adolescent inpatient psychiatric care and be willing to float between units as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care for individuals dealing with psychiatric, emotional, and substance use challenges.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment while adhering to established care principles.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team to develop and implement individual treatment plans, including setting appropriate goals and interventions.
• Document patient care effectively and contribute to ongoing assessments and evaluations.
• Support and advocate for patients and their families throughout the treatment process.

Qualifications

Education

Active RN license in the State of Massachusetts required; BSN preferred.

Experience

Minimum of one year of inpatient psychiatric experience required. CPR certification mandatory. Experience in restraint reduction, de-escalation, and crisis intervention preferred.

Skills

• Strong critical thinking abilities for effective decision-making and problem-solving.
• Advanced knowledge of behavioral health and substance abuse treatment modalities.
• Ability to apply nursing processes in a Trauma-Informed Recovery model of care.
• Skilled in developing therapeutic relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Effective oral and written communication skills and proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records.
• Strong crisis management and time management skills; ability to delegate and coach others.
• Flexible, creative, and capable of managing stressful situations calmly and professionally.
