Registered Nurse (Telemetry) - Travel Assignment

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit: Neurosciences (36 beds)
• Staff: 40 total
• Shifts:

  • Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 6 RNs, 3 CNAs, 1 HUC
  • Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 6 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1 HUC
• Patient Ratios:

  • Day Shift: 5:1 (standard), 6:1 (stretch)
  • Night Shift: 7:1 (stretch)
• Equipment: Standard Medical-Surgical Equipment
• EMR System: Cerner

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• NIH Certification
• BLS

Licensure

• Registered Nurse (RN) License required

Experience

• Minimum 2+ years of experience as an RN in Telemetry or related specialty

Skills & Preferences

• Must have:

  • NIH Certification
  • ACLS Certification
• Preferred:

  • Neuro experience

Typical Procedures Performed

• Foley catheter insertion
• IV starts

Work Environment & Culture

• Floating to other medical-surgical floors may be required
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
• Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend required
• Personality Fit: Outgoing, self-motivated

Additional Information

• New staff receive a reference book at the start of the contract
• No indication that prior travel experience is required for this role

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience
• At least 1 year of Telemetry experience within the last year
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
