Job Opportunity: Cardiac Cath Lab RN or RT (Contract)

Position Details

• Employment Type: Contractor
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 10-hour day shifts
• Hours per Week: 40
• Call Requirements: Approximately 50% call per month, including multiple weeknights and full weekends (Friday end of shift through Monday morning)
• Holiday Expectations: Required to take call on holidays
• Weekend Rotation: Call only

Facility & Unit Overview

• Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center
• 2 procedure rooms: 1 Electrophysiology (EP)/Cath room and 1 Cath Lab
• 24/7, 365 STEMI Program
• Team-oriented environment with interdisciplinary collaboration
• Support staff includes receptionist/HUC, respiratory therapy, and hospitalist

Patient Types & Procedures

• Cardiac Cath Lab diagnostics and interventions including femoral and radial approaches, IFR, FFR, balloon pumps
• Electrophysiology procedures such as pacemakers, AICDs, loop recorders, diagnostic EP studies, and right-sided ablations
• Average of 4 cases per day

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty (RN or RT)
• Licensure & Certifications:

  • RN: BLS, ACLS
  • RT: BLS, ARRT or RCIS; ACLS preferred
• Skills:

  • RN: Experience with Cath Lab patient types and critical care (ED or ICU)
  • RT/CVT: Cath Lab experience with relevant patient types
  • Familiarity with balloon pumps and temporary pacers
• Travel Experience: First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience not required)

Technology & Equipment

• EMR: EPIC
• Hemodynamic system: Maclab (travelers will not monitor cases)
• IV Pump: Alaris
• Medication dispensing: Pyxis
• Contrast delivery: Manifold
• Imaging: GE C-arms, PACS

Additional Information

• Floating: Limited to rooms within the department and pre-op area
• Scrub color provided; bringing own scrubs recommended
