Description
Job Opportunity: Geriatric Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Salem, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Unit: Geriatric Psychiatric Unit (Nights & Every Other Weekend, 36 hours per week)
- Patient Population: Geriatric adults with diverse mental health issues including anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, dual diagnosis, and medically acute patients requiring IVs, CPAPs, wound and diabetic care.
- Typical Patient Ratio: 1 RN to 7-8 patients
- Shift Details: Night shift with every other weekend coverage; rotating shifts required for day shift only (7a-7p, 11a-11p, 7p-7a)
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: EPIC
Required Experience and Skills
- Valid RN license in Massachusetts
- Minimum 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience working with adult patients in an inpatient setting
- Experience in charge nurse roles
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
