Description

Registered Nurse - Pediatrics (Travel/Contract)

Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 19:00 - 7:30)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Float pool position covering Pediatric Hematology/Oncology (no chemo/infusions), pediatrics, adolescents, newborn nursery, and Special Care Nursery (SCN).
  • May also take Med/Surg assignments across various areas including PICU, NICU, and Pediatric Emergency Department.
  • Patient ratio approximately 1:5.
  • Weekend work required every other weekend.
  • Block scheduling is not approved.
  • Locals and first-time travelers are accepted.
  • Time off requests must be submitted with application and approved before offer.
  • Experience required with IV pumps, pulse oximeters, cardiac monitoring, IVs, TPN, G-tube, trach tubes, central lines, Foley catheters, NG tubes, respiratory treatments, transfusions, and pre/post-op care.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New Jersey.
  • Minimum 1.5 years of float experience, including float experience within the last year.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • IV Certification.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Pediatrics experience.
