Description

Registered Nurse (RN) ICU - Cardiovascular

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately)


Job Description

Under general supervision, provide nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex in an ICU cardiovascular setting.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
  • Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note all changes in physician orders.
  • Assist physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
  • Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients; observe physiological manifestations and intervene as necessary.
  • Administer medications as prescribed; initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
  • Deliver competent patient care.
  • Communicate care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge.
  • Inform patients and families about hospital procedures.
  • Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
  • Delegate tasks to support staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma.
  • Minimum 1 year of CVICU experience within the last year.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Experience and proficiency with Impella devices.
  • Experience and proficiency with balloon pump (IABP).
  • Experience and proficiency with heart recovery.
  • Proficiency in Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT).
  • Proficiency in Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECCMO).
